Today was a fun day! Our boat split into three groups, the Dolphins and Barracudas went to the beach to snorkel and the Divemasters joined the Neptunes on our boat and went to dive the Chikuzen. All groups had a really fun time. Tonight we are going on a night dive and have to navigate ourselves! Over and out.

Day 12
Author: Hillis E.
Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Today we woke up at 7:00. While the staff had a giant meeting the shipmates had french toast for breakfast. At 10:30 the Neptunes boarded Bulot for a long journey to the Korean refridgerator ship wreck, the Chikuzin. During the dive we saw a ten foot shark. The Dolphins crowded on to Raphaella for a snorkel at Lava Point and a fun time on the beach. After snorkeling our night dive site we had dinner, which was chili with rice. Afterwards, we did a night dive then had brownies, which were made by Momma Fresca.

Author: Jason T.
Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
The day started off with a bang of techno music at 3:00 am from the boat next to us, not a great time for a dance party. At 7:00 the staff went ashore for a meeting and we stayed on board and had a tasty breakfast of french toast. In the afternoon we dove a sweet wreck and saw a nurse shark, it was cool. The rest of the day was pretty relaxed, we motored to our next anchorage, had dinner and went on a night dive. After the night dive we were treated to brownies!

Day 12
Author: Leila W.
Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
After a wonderful breakfast of French toast the shipmates proved we could raise the bar by having our boat spotless even without the constant supervision of our staff. We then took our ship out into the ocean and practiced tacks, jibes, and man overboard drills. We ate lunch at a remote island and met up with the other shipmates for a swim. After an hour or so of lying in the sand, exploring jungles, and throwing each other into the waves, we set our sails again. We had an easy sail in which the shipmates graced the seas with their beautiful singing and dancing on the decks. We cruised into Muskmelon Bay for a nutritious dinner and a glorious sunset.

Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
So today was sweet. We started the day with some wicked good French toast and eggs and cruised out of Marina Cay pretty early. We all made some phone calls home too which was very cool. On we went, sailing around to the north side of Tortola and stopped at an amazing white sand beach called Lava Flow. It's a beach with a formation made by cooled off lava. We hung out in the rocks and swam in the waves. We finally left Lava Flow and set sail to Muskmelon Bay where we are chilling right now. We ate some chili and Mike came over to show us some cards and eat. And now we're going to have a sail chat, our second of the day. Sweet. I think the funniest part of the day, for me at least, was when Andy told us her dream of being a pillow. Peace out homeslices

We began today at port for a couple people to go to the clinic and call their parents. Three people from our boat were sick today. When we got to Great Dog Island we had lunch and all went diving. It was so much fun! After we dove we went for a two hour sail to Muskmelon Bay. The wind was not very strong so we took down our sails early to get there faster. All of our shipmates are back from the clinic and luckily everyone is fine. Being skipper was so much fun.

After dinner we went to shore to have a group talk with Mike. So far everyone thinks the trip is amazing and is sad we're halfway through.

We woke up early and has cereal for breakfast, then began to clean our boat and make it "ship shape" for our trip to port. We were underway at 8:00 am and arrived at 9:15, then all the shipmates shopped and hung out until noon. Afterwards, we headed out to Marios to dive, the site is so called because the coral on the reef looks like mushrooms from Super Mario Brothers. The reef was full of sea life and the water very clear. After the dive we headed off the the Lifeworks area.

For lunch we had ramen noodles and then we came to port. After port we had a very good dinner which was made by Anna, we had tortellini.

After the dive we went sailing on Picos. Then we practiced mooring and navigation. In the evening the whole crew had a sail chat to prepare us for the test.

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we left Vixen Point. After breakfast we motored to port for 45 minutes. After, we went to our final destination, Mountain Point. There we went diving and did man overboard procedures. During our man overboard practices the grip fell off the boat hook. Because we needed it back, we really had to do a man or boat hook overboard procedure. The scuba Barracudas are going night diving. Today was beautiful up until dinner when it rained.

We started early in Vixen Point with a breakfast of eggs and motored over to Leverick Bay to fil up on water and a quick stop at port. The rest of the day was filled with rotations of scuba diving, watersports, and man overboard drills. Next came a hectic cleanup and dinner prep because Mike the director chose to eat with Musgrave for dinner, and after cleanup the Vegas took their scuba tests and the Carinas went on a night dive.

Next came a hectic cleanup and dinner prep because Mike the director chose to eat with Musgrave for dinner, and after cleanup the Vegas took their scuba tests and the Carinas went on a night dive.

Day 9
Author: Adam M.
Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we awoke bright and early to a full rotation day. First, we practiced mooring the boat on a mooring ball. Next we sailed the Picos (a small sailboat), with varying degrees of success. After a quick lunch we went for a confined water dive, finishing PADI's requirements. Then we took the PADI open water dive exam before dinner. After dinner the crew attempted to catch a seagull, which seemed an exercise in futility until it actually worked.

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we all participated in rotations, which started off with Picos. Afterwards the Vega students went on their final confined dive as those in Quest went snorkeling. After lunch we all went to practice mooring in groups of four. Scuba diving students took their final exam and luckily everyone passed. As dinner approached so did a huge storm and we all got absolutely soaked during dinner. Afterwards, we all participated in a little boat appreciation and now the boat is spotless. But it was all worth it when we got BROWNIES! They made everything better.

First of all I wanted to say today was an awesome day. It all started when I the skipper had to get everyone up at 6:30am. It was a rotation day and we started off having oatmeal for breakfast, then we had a dive talk. After that we got to learn how to sail boats called Rhodes. Soon it was lunch and we had a mix of sandwiches, then it was swim and Pico time. After all of that we went on a dive. The advanced divers dove at the Chimneys and of course we got lost. It was actually an interesting experience.

Today was a rotation day. We started out with learning our dive tables, and for those on Quest, they went snorkeling. Following snorkeling and dive tables we went and learned how to sail Picos. For those who sailed them, we had an interesting experience. Following a lunch meat lunch we went scuba diving and then sailing with a typed of sailboat called Rhodes. After the day in the sun we enjoyed a Mexican style dinner.

Today got off to an early start when we raised the mainsail in pajamas to start the three hour sail to Anegada. The sail was good with a steady wind. Anegada was a beautiful deserted beach which seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. After the short visit we lifted anchor and began the sail back to Virgin Gorda. Almost everyone fell asleep on the sail home (we must have been exhausted from our dance party last night). Tonight was Mexican night and everyone had a blast. Multiple pieces of silverware were lost overboard, but everyone laughed harder than we had on the trip.

We started the day like usual, bright and early after a late night of dancing. We began the day with a dive chat which was followed by an exciting dive. Then we split into groups where we sailed 19ft Rhodes sailboats. Some shipmates enjoyed the thrill of the boat heeling (tipping over to one side), but some screamed in terror. To end the rotations we sailed Picos (small plastic sailboats) and relaxed on the beach. For dinner we ate a Mexican fiesta, but that did not end our day. After that we dove for the many cups which blew overboard and cleaned the many dishes, we had boat appreciation (major cleanup). After a long day we ended with a Lifeworks Forum. The funniest parts of the were when one person fell and jelly slipped from our Mexican PB+Js.

Today we sailed from Vixen Point to Leverick Bay to stock up on snacks and fill up on water. After that we sailed about two hours to Anegada where we hung out in the warm waters and watched sharks/built sandcastles for a while. Then we sailed to Mountain Point and had Mexican night. Everyone's really getting the hang of sailing (meaning no one is getting seasick anymore). Everyone knows Cedar will be winning by a mile when race day comes around.

Today we had amazing weather, the sun was shining all day. We stayed at anchor most of the day. We had a rotation day. We went scuba diving, waterskiied, and windsurfed. The funnest part of the day was when our whole boat was hanging out on the beach swimming and talking. Tonight we have a BBQ/party. It's gonna be awesome. There is a DJ and a good meal. Rotation days are really tiring and everyone on the boat got sunburned and the best thing is that we get a whole other rotation day tomorrow.

Today we had another rotation day: scuba chat, diving, Rhodes sailing, and Pico sailing. It was very sunny all day and it was our last day/night at Vixen Point. The beach party at night was also very fun. It was good for everyone to be together, eat, and finally dance. Even though we were with all the other boats, our shipmates still stayed together most of the night. It also rained last night and everyone got soaking wet dancing in the rain.

The boat arose at 7:30. We dove and identified assorted creatures of the deep, then traveled to a town on an island whose name is lost to me. The rest of the boat went to a restaurant and presumably had an enjoyable meal. I bought a deli sandwich and walked back to the boat and ate it with my book. Afterwards, when my shipmates were reunited with the boat, the marine bio team snorkeled while the advanced divers had a lecture on boat diving. Now, as I write, we are heading off to a party. I assume much fun, hilarity, and entertainment will be the order of the evening.

Today Pine had another successful rotation day! We sailed on a Rhodes (mini sailboat) for the first time. Another first, we sailed a Pico (another mini sailboat a little smaller than a Sunfish). These were awesome because they flipped very easily and were very hard to sail. The day was long and fun but night was the best. We all went to shore and had a huge ActionQuest cookout and dance with the best DJ in the islands, DJ Heavy B. The food was great and it was nice to eat on land for a change! Dancing was awesome too. The best part of the day was when it started pouring rain and Pine started dancing in the rain and everyone followed.

Today was awesome! We woke up early and had a rotation day. People participated in windsurfing, diving, and wakeboarding/waterskiing. After a long day everyone put on nice clothes for a beach BBQ and dance. It was so much fun! We danced to a DJ and had contests. When it started to rain we all went out onto the beach and kept on dancing. After the dance we were so tired that we all went to bed.

Today we woke up and had French toast, then prepared our boat to go do our second confined water dive. The weather was pretty nice today, minus the few little showers we had. We all worked really well today setting up dive gear, and our rotation day went well also. We windsurfed and waterskiied during rotations. We didn't sail today, we stayed here at Vixen Point which has great clear water to dive in.

We woke up this morning and immediately sailed to our first dive location: the Chimneys at the Dogs. We had breakfast underway and were finished by the time we arrived. We had an exciting pleasure dive, filled with many fish and creatures, and a neat swim-through. When we got back to the boat we switched our tanks and sailed to our second at "wall to wall." The current was very strong there. We had a fantastic lunch. Then we sailed back to Mountain Point, where we will spend the night. We had a lecture on naturalist dives, and had some time to relax. Dinner was good as well, and the day was ended with a Lifeworks Forum. Apart from the occasional rain shower (about three), the day was an exciting one.

After anchoring at Vixen Point the night before we awoke to the typical gorgeous weather of the BVI. There was a slight breeze good enough for windsurfing and the sea conditions were relatively good. The highlight of the day was snorkeling with Adam and Victor. We snorkeled along the mangrove trees and saw a great variety of plants and animals. Also, positives for the day include waterskiing, wakeboarding, and the delicious French toast.

We all woke up early and ate amazing high quality cereal and went diving at the Chimneys. It was amazing, best dive so far. So much coral and lots of different fish. Then we set sail over to the Flinstones. It's always windy and seems like it just starts raining right out of nowhere but it only lasts a few minutes. When we got to the Flinstones we went diving again. It wasn't as good as the first dive but it was still pretty cool. We went to Mountain Point where we were just chilling and ran into an amazing barracuda and we named him Karl! Mike tried to catch him but got scared.

Today we woke up early and set sail for Anegada. We had perfect sailing conditions and made our way to Anegada. When we arrived we played on the beach for two hours: Frisbee, chicken fights, sand castles, and more. We returned to the boat and showered, ate lunch, and began to sail back to Vixen Point. Personally this is my favorite sail day because we really got to test our newly acquired sailing skills. On our way back we experienced a squall and learned how that affects our sails and direction. Once again, two funny moments were: silverware falling overboard and Fredo saving the day, and Drea wearing her "sailing" hat. Today was a great day and the time is just sailing by.

The weather was good today, though it rained early this morning. The swells were fairly normal out on the ocean but were small in the two bays we were in. Today we spent a lot of time sailing and most of the rest on the beach. Today we left Savanna Bay and sailed to Anegada Island, where we had fun on the beach. The funniest part of the day was when several of us tried to dunk some of the staff. Today, while sailing, we found out that we actually have a chance of winning the race.

The British Virgin Islands keep getting more beautiful, and the days get more packed with activities. We woke up and sailed to our first of two dive sites. On the dives we explored the underwater swim throughs and rock walls that are filled with corals and unique sea life. Our relaxing scuba diving was followed by a beautiful sail across the calm ocean and sunny skies. Waterskiing during on of the daily five minute downpours was also a memorable moment of the amazing day. Finally, it's always nice to wind down with the other twelve of my shipmates at the end of the day.

We had veggie burgers, mashed potatoes, and baked beans for dinner, then we went on the night dive. Then we had fudge brownies baked by Fresca and went to bed.

Today the weather was fabulous. The wind was strong and the sun was shining. The sea conditions were calm. Our boat went to the Baths and climbed the jumping rock and everyone jumped off. The best thing that happened today was that we raced Tengger on the way here and beat them. We also went to Spanishtown today and we got to eat a really good meal. Everyone bought food in the stores. For dinner we had veggie burgers with mashed potatoes and beans and it was really good.

Author: Hailey D.
Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we sailed to the Baths. We explored the Baths, the best thing that we did today was explore the cave of the Baths and jump off a rock into the water. We then sailed to Spanishtown and picked up supplies. After that we sailed to Mountain Point. The weather was partly cloudy, windy, and the ocean was wavy. We snorkeled Mountain Point's shores and did a night dive. The dive was great.

Day 5
Author: Bailey D.
Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Today we went to the Baths. Though most of the shipmates came back with injuries (cuts and scrapes) it was the coolest place that we've been. The Baths are a collection of large rocks grouped together to form many caves, beaches, and hidden passages. After the Baths we went to Spanishtown, Virgin Gorda, where we got more food for the boat and experienced a little civilization in the hot, hot, sun. We left Spanishtown for our most "intense" sail so far. It was about a three hour sail where we first learned points of sail and mastered our maneuvers.

Today was our first rotation day. We either went scuba diving, waterskiied, or windsurfed. Vegas on the boat were extremely excited for their first dive. The weather was intense sun with a slight breeze- a couple of us got sunburned. One of the best parts of the day was when the people on the boat made a three man pyramid by sitting on one another's shoulders. The only bad part of the day would be the buckets of rain that fell while we all tried to sleep.

Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Today we had good weather, although our ship was anchored all day. We were dropped off on the beach while taking turns kneeboarding, waterskiing, and wakeboarding. Also we tried windsurfing. Then after lunch we did dinghy and knot training. After lunch we did confined water dive training which was my favorite part of the day. The funniest part of the day was when Daniel windsurfed way out to see and hitched a ride back with a dinghy.

Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
The weather was nice, windy and sunny. The sea was so beautiful. The water is so cool and clear. Our boat got to stay here all at anchor. We went to the Sand Circle for a beautiful dive and navigation underwater. The best thing that happened to me was on a dive seeing a group of three butterfly fish. It was really fun wakeboarding. The day went very well and bonding is going on and looking forward to the day ahead.

Today we got an early start to go to the Baths. The Baths had huge boulders and we all climbed through them to the top and jumped off into the water! After the Baths we headed to Spanishtown. Spanishtown consisted of shops, restaurants, and everyone's favorite thing- ice cream! After departing from Spanishtown we sailed for a while, caught up on our sailing skills, and learned about techniques and sailing itself.

Today we woke up to a crisp BVI morning and started activities right away. Vegas performed their first underwater scuba dive in a confined area. Divemasters assisted the Vegas all day, while everyone else rotated after diving to wakeboarding, windsurfing, and just having a good time. At dinner we shared our favorite places to be. So far the past four days have been going smoothly and everyone seems happy.

Today we started in Savanna Bay, and ended there too. The weather was great and the wind was pretty strong. This morning we went to the Baths. It was a pile of rocks that had caves underneath it. Also you could just swim or jump off the rocks. When we were all going back to the boat Eddie got lost. He came back, but we're still not sure where he was. After that we went to Spanishtown. It wasn't very Spanish, but it was still fun. We all had lunch there and got water. After we all ate we went for a sail past the bay and back around. When we were all taking showers David said to look out for sharks and everyone freaked out, so overall it was a good day.

Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Today our ship sailed around the islands to Savanna Bay. We left at approximately 8:35 am. We had a great time learning how to tie knots and learning the facts of sailing. The weather was warm and mostly sunny with a slight breeze. When we arrived in Savanna Bay we anchored the boat, then headed our ways to waterskiing and wakeboarding. Although some of us were good and maybe bad, we all learned something new. Now we are eating dinner and waiting for the two great adventures to come our way!

As usual in the Caribbean the weather was fantastic, although there were a few clouds. However, it did not kill the buzz of the day! We traveled from the Bight to Cooper Island, where we had a rest for a couple of hours chilling in the sun and swimming. Then we continued our journey and arrived at Savanna Bay where we will be spending the night. I believe the best part of the day was the food served. Brownies, blueberry muffins, delicious pasta Also the swimming in the ocean was very nice, cooling off from the humid heat of the day.

Today the weather was really windy, as it appears to almost constantly be here in the BVI's. No complaints though! It kept the boat moving at right around five knots the whole time we were travelling and cooled us off. Another thing to mention is that it didn't rain last night, so those of us who slept on the deck were well rested today. We dove on Blue Chromis Reef, near Peter Island, and saw some cool fish and coral. Then we continued on to Savanna Bay in Virgin Gorda. Most of us played a big game of cards this evening right before having a great pasta and salad dinner.

Location: West End, Tortola
Today everyone arrived on the dock after a long day of traveling. We got to jump in the water for our swim test, which felt great. After that we got fitted with our new dive gear, explored our new homes, our boats, and met the staff members and other shipmates. Dinner was totellini with marinera sauce, afterwards we had a dock talk with the entire group and Mike, who told us what we are going to be doing the next three weeks. We then set up our hammocks and went to bed.

Location: West End, Tortola
Today was the first day that we were in Tortola. Everybody got together at around nine. When we first got here we had to give all of the important things like passports and plane tickets to Thomas for safekeeping. After that we had to pass a swim test which consisted of swimming eight laps and treading water for ten minutes. The water was very refreshing after a long day of travel. Tortola is a beautiful place and it was fun walking around to all the shops. Dinner was the first meal we all had together and it was very enjoyable. All in all it was a great day!

Author: Maxwell A.
Location: West End, Tortola
Today everyone arrived in Tortola. Upon arrival we had to check in and take a swim test. We had a meeting with Mike, who is the director of ActionQuest, and he went over all the rules. For dinner we had pasta and garlic bread. There are many new people to meet and the day was fairly hectic with everyone running around finding their boat and getting organized in their cabins. The boats are nice but the cabins are small, however we can sleep anywhere.
